Dear Parents and Guardians:

We are grateful for everyone’s generous donations to the school library this year. When we put out a web blast to fill in the gaps for the series books in the collection, parents and students cleared out their bookshelves.  The book fair profit enabled us to renew the web-based circulation system.  The Home and School paid for some of the databases your children use at school and at home for research. This year, the profit from Masterman’s Annual Auction will go toward refurbishing the school library, providing an attractive, welcoming place where students can read, study, work, and interact. This year has been stellar for our school library!

Your support of the library as the heart of the school is evident.  Perhaps you would like to contribute in a personal way.  Graduation for eighth graders and seniors is just around the corner. If you want to remember your graduate with a meaningful gift, you may consider a monetary donation to the Masterman School Library.

The enclosed flyer describes the Celebration Club. Through the Celebration Club, you can make a donation in honor of a graduate. This year, we are concentrating on the following areas: biography and a set of books on the United States.  We will place a specially inscribed book plate in the front of the book purchased with your donation. The graduate will receive a letter notifying him or her of your gift.

In addition to giving a distinctive graduation gift, your thoughtfulness enables us to augment our collection in support of our curriculum. Your donation benefits the whole Masterman community!

If you are interested in participating in the Celebration Club, kindly complete the enclosed flyer and return it to the school library. We also have a downloadable form on Masterman School Website ( http://webgui.phila.k12.pa.us/); look for the Instructional Media Center link on the left-hand margin, then click Library Programs. Any questions can be directed to the library staff at 215-299-2581. Thank you again for your magnanimous support of our school library.
