Masterman Families grades 9-12; important performance of "Addict" on Thursday, April 21st

posted Apr 14, 2016, 8:27 AM by Rachel Luterman   [ updated Apr 19, 2016, 7:18 PM ]

Addict is a play written by Jerome McDonough, and adapted and directed by Masterman’s Peer Counselors. The play brings to life the impact of substance abuse among adolescents through six vignettes, each focusing on a specific drug. Our mission behind staging this gripping drama is to reveal the struggles that so many young people face through authentic stories, many of which are based on actual events. The play has been updated in order to ensure accuracy and to reflect current trends in drug use.

We strongly encourage all audience members to remain after the performance for a discussion with cast members, young people in recovery, and professionals working in the field of addiction. We believe that the most effective way to foster change is to Be a Part of theConversation.

Performances will be in the Masterman auditorium.

Day Performance: Thursday, April 21 at 1:40
Evening Performance:  Thursday, April 21 at 5:30pm

Admission is free and the performance is appropriate for grades 9 through 12.
