One Masterman Volunteer Can Improve Recess for All Grades.

posted Oct 31, 2015, 5:43 PM by David Ortiz

The volunteer contributions of Masterman parents and guardians make a real and widely felt difference for students, as well as school staff. But more help is needed. For example, one parent volunteer recently reported: “If there is at least one parent volunteers to monitor the rooftop lunch recess, the ladies that work up there can open a beautiful big extra patio that can only be opened to students when they have at least three adults up there during recess. They typically always have two workers so one parent volunteer fulfills the requisite. The ladies explained to me that this applies for all grade levels.”

So, if you want to get some air during lunch, and have your security clearances, sign up for one of the four lunch time “Monitor Cafeteria/Rooftop Recess” slots using Masterman’s online VolunteerSpot scheduling and reminder tool: http://vols.pt/RNeZ1u . The first recess slot begins at 10:13am; the last ends at 1:37pm.

Volunteers are also needed for various positions early each morning – to help the school staff cope with the morning rush. See Masterman’s VolunteerSpot Schedule for more information.

If you are interested in volunteering, but don’t yet have your security clearances, read these FAQs [ http://bit.ly/1LEoWqR ] to get information about what clearances you need, and how to get them. Applications for the two main security clearances – criminal history and child abuse clearance reports -- are now free for volunteers.
