The Masterman HSA is pleased to announce $75,000
|
STAFF GRANTS$300 each | $18,000 total
For the 2022-23 School Year, Masterman HSA will award Staff Grants to all teachers and counselors. This grant program is one of the most popular among HSA members and is designed to enhance the quality of instruction at Masterman while also supporting our teachers and supplement existing resources. In an update to procedures from past years (and to help expedite the disbursement of funds!) grants will be provided in the form of a Visa gift card. Staff are asked to pick up and sign for the cards from School Operations Officer, Ms. Cruz. Recipients will be required to provide receipts for their purchases by June 1, 2023 to maintain eligibility for the program in the next school year. Funds are intended for supplemental materials or initiatives for instructional purposes. We ask that the funds not be applied to professional development or extracurricular activities. Any unspent balances on the Visa cards by June 1, 2023, will be returned for future use by the HSA. Depending on our fundraising efforts and management of our budget, we hope to offer a second Staff Grant in the Spring. Thank you, teachers! |
DEPARTMENT GRANTS$2,200 each | $22,000 total
New this year, HSA will award $2,200 to each of the following 10 departments at Masterman: 5th Grade, 6th Grade, English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, World Language, Physical Education, Related Arts, and Counseling. The application for Department Grants will be coordinated by the Department Chairs who are asked to gain consensus among their respective teams to identify the best use of funds for materials or initiatives that will be applicable to at least two-thirds of students served by the respective department. The grant is to be used to enhance instruction and is not intended for professional development or extracurricular activities. In addition, the grant must have the support of at least 60% of the respective department’s staff. Upon joint approval by Administration and the HSA Grants Committee, funds will be disbursed to the school to administer the purchase of the approved expenditures, in accordance with SDP procedures. Any unused funds may be reallocated to other HSA Grants. |

The Class Sponsors are: 5th Grade: Ms. Lennon 6th Grade: Ms. Lennon 7th Grade: Ms. Amit-Cubbage 8th Grade: Dr. Alberti 9th Grade: Ms. Waber 10th Grade: Ms. Taylor 11th Grade: Ms. Marranzini/Ms. Solomon 12th Grade: Ms. Solomon All activities should take place at no cost to students and will require joint approval by Administration and the HSA Grants Committee. |
